NYCM Employees Advocate for Heart Health with the American Heart Association

For nearly 30 years, NYCM Insurance has been a proud supporter of America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk, an event hosted by the American Heart Association. Traditionally a family event that takes place in Utica, NY, NYCM employees come together to walk in solidarity against heart disease and stroke.

NYCM is proud that America’s Greatest Heart Run and Walk takes place in their own backyard, in Utica, NY, and look forward to being the Signature Sponsor for the event. Why is it the “greatest”? Because it was the first Heart Run/Walk event to reach one million dollars through fundraising efforts. Every year NYCM looks forward to fundraising for the event and participating as a team. Read more about the partnership between NYCM & the American Heart Association.

The Norwich YMCA has received permission to begin recreational indoor soccer. Space and teams are limited, and the program will look and operate a little different then in years past. The ultimate goal is to get kids active in a safe and meaningful way. COVID protocols will be followed during the season and masks will be required to practice and play.

Registration for YMCA members will be through February 14th or until all of the spaces are filled. Non-YMCA members can begin registering if slots remain. A youth registration form can be printed off of the website and completed when paying at the YMCA member service desk. For more information, please contact Tom Revoir at 336-9622 extension 1029 or at norwichymcaseniorprog@citlink.net

The Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC) was expanded through June 30, 2021, now offers a more generous tax credit, and eliminates a previous 2020 restriction for those with a Paycheck Protection Program loan. NFIB’s latest survey of small business owners shows most aren’t aware of the ERTC. Consider talking to your tax professional or bookkeeper soon about taking advantage of the expanded ERTC. Learn more.

2020 NYS Parks Attendance

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo recently announced that New York's State parks, historic sites, campgrounds, and trails welcomed a record-setting 78 million visits in 2020. The increase was driven by unprecedented visitation in the spring and fall, as New Yorkers turned to nearby State parks, trails and historic sites to escape the pandemic. Also of note, is that 570,000 bookings for overnight camping have already been reserved for 2021. Read more.
