Commerce Chenango to Honor Gladding Braided Products
as 2022 Manufacturer of the Year

Norwich, NY - Commerce Chenango will host its first Manufacturer Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the Northeast Classic Car Museum in Norwich, as part of Manufacturing Week. This dedicated week is celebrated in honor of the many manufacturers who operate within Chenango County for their continued support of the community and local economy. Throughout the week, Commerce Chenango will be highlighting various manufacturers across the region on social media to provide more exposure to these highly esteemed companies and all the work they are doing right here in Chenango County.

One way to honor manufacturers is through the presentation of the valued ‘Manufacturer of the Year’ award. This year, the award will be presented to Gladding Braided Products, located in South Otselic. In business since 1816, Gladding specializes in manufacturing braided materials that are used in and by various industries, including the United States military. From paracord to metal cables, Gladding’s products have been used in a variety of ways, making their customer base one of the reasons they continue to thrive. The Gladding family, although more diverse than the traditional sense, is committed to carrying the company name into the next century through their superior business practices, commendable workplace culture, and passion for caring for their employees and the community in which they reside.

The 2022 Manufacturer of the Year award will be presented to Gladding Braided products at the first annual Manufacturer Appreciation Luncheon on Thursday, October 6. This event would not be possible without the support of presenting sponsor, Chobani. A brief presentation on up-and-coming trends in manufacturing and workforce initiatives will be provided by Alliance for Manufacturing & Technology (AMT) and Commerce Chenango, respectively, at the event that begins at 11:00 a.m. at the Northeast Classic Car Museum in Norwich.
